Dear Camp Angels,
Madi was diagnosed just a little over a year ago and this was her first chance to go to camp. However our family had some other major things happen and I didn’t think we were going to be able to find the money for it after all, and I didn’t know how I was going to tell her. Thanks to your Camp Angels Madi was able to get this amazing camp experience this summer. Madi ended up in the hospital 2 days before she turned 5 and as she puts it she came home with diabetes. While she is rarely shy about showing and telling people about Type 1 and the difference between it and T2. She was also always lonely as she didn’t know anyone else with T1. Going to Camp she got to feel like she was a normal little girl,, she came home and said when your at camp its not like you have diabetes cause everyone has it.
