Dear Camp Angels Supporters,
Alysse found her best friend at her very first Diabetes camp two years ago. It was a miracle for us, as she was newly diagnosed and we were floundering. Alysse still talks almost daily with her cabin mates from two years ago. They share their concerns and triumphs both in relation to living with diabetes and just being teenagers.
Last year, Covid stole Alysse’s and everyone else’s camp experience away. We decided that camp for kids with diabetes is SOOO important to her that it is worth driving six hours each way to a Diabetes camp in the neighboring state.
Alysse enjoys so many activities despite her diagnosis as a brittle diabetic. She is a volleyball player, competitive cheerleader, pole vaulter, in musical theater, student government, and she loves to hang out with friends. She enjoys fishing, camping, reading, unicorns, and glitter. Thank you for providing funding to campers! The Camp experience is priceless.
