Learn MoreWHO WE ARE
Camp Angels is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that helps to provide funding for children with Type 1 Insulin Dependent Diabetes to attend specialized summer camps.
Since 2002, thanks to the generous donations of individuals, corporations, and foundations, we have worked to provide scholarship funds for children living with diabetes to experience the joy of summer camp.
Making summer camps possible for kids with diabetes means more than just an anonymous donation, it gives a financially challenged family the opportunity to support their child in learning self-management skills all in a safe and comfortable environment. Diabetes summer camps offer classic camp activities, as well as staff and medical professionals who are experienced with type 1 diabetes care. The camps help to prepare and equip children with knowledge on how to manage their diabetes. For example, children learn how to give themselves proper injections of insulin, what foods are best for their diets, and how to manage a balance of recreation and diet.
By attending specialized diabetes camps that offer a supportive and unique environment, recipients of the Camp Angels’ schlorships also gain the knowledge that they are not alone with their diabetes.
Helping Diabetic Children to Camp
Without generous donations of individuals like yourselves, the Camp Angels program would not be able to provide these children the opportunity to learn about their illness in these caring, supportive and fun environments.
All of our campers come from financially challenged families and receive partial scholarships.
We invite you to become a Camp Angel by sponsoring a child to attend camp.

A Campers Experience
If you are a diabetic and are considering going to camp or are going and nervous about it, I encourage you to GO! You will learn a lot and have a great time! Who knows, you might even want to go back next year.
Spending time with other kids who also have diabetes made me feel normal. It was amazing how many others shared my insecurities about being diabetic and who were also having the same control problems. I learned so much about how to manage my diabetes with diet, exercise and insulin. The tricks I learned at camp continue to help me to this day (almost 14 years later).
I had never heard of such a place, and the last thing on my summer wish list was to go to a camp in the middle of nowhere, full of kids I didn’t know, who all had this weird disease. But, no matter how much I begged, my parents were intent on making me go. Turns out that this was the beginning of the best time of my life.
It was the summer after 5th grade. My parents suggested that I go to a camp for kids with diabetes (that means they told me I was going) to learn more about my disease, how to control it and meet new friends. Yeah, right!
I remember turning 10, being diagnosed with something called diabetes and then being shipped off to some weird summer camp, I thought things couldn’t get worse!
All of our campers come from financially challenged families and receive partial scholarships.
